The principle, Barry Slocombe, BBA has conducted in excess of 450 services for families throughout Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, inter-Provincially as well as international decedents since 2016.

Barry is a retired Insurance Adjuster and Claims Consultant and following retirement in 2014, he entered Funeral Service as a Funeral Director’s Assistant, following which he opened his Celebrant practice in the summer of 2016.

Barry’s public speaking skills started in the early 1980’s and he has spoken at several domestic and international locations, including: Vancouver, Yellowknife, Winnipeg, Kamloops, Saskatoon, Toronto, Phoenix, AZ and in 1983 Nadi, Fiji, where he brought a Canadian perspective to Worldwide guests attending the Pacific Loss Adjusters Convention.

His public speaking bio also includes broadcasting, Master of Ceremony duties: leading several conventions: Legal, Insurance, the Aircraft Engineers Association, the Alberta Gaming Commission, as well as MC/Charity Auction duties, for Ronald MacDonald House, the Canadian Liver Foundation and several other charities.

With over 30 years of dealing with people under duress conducting interviews and writing reports on their insurance claims and nearly 10 years of dealing with grieving families, Barry is thorough, articulate, compassionate, professional and understanding.
